National Math Day -2025
National Mathematics Day was celebrated on 19th December to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Mathematician -Srinivasa Ramanujam with great enthusiasm and academic spirit at Hindustan International School, Karapakkam. The celebration aimed to highlight the importance of Mathematics in everyday life, promote logical thinking, and inspire students to appreciate the beauty of numbers. Students from all grades actively participated, making the event lively, informative, and enjoyable

The tiny tots from Histar (PP1, PP2, and PP3) stole the show by dressing up as numbers, shapes, and famous mathematicians. Their confident walk and explanations added charm and excitement to the celebration. Students of Grade 2 presented a cheerful song on Mathematics, beautifully conveying how Math is an integral part of daily life and learning. The performance made mathematical concepts enjoyable for young learners. A short audio-visual presentation showcasing the life and contributions of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan was screened.
The AV highlighted his journey, achievements, and inspirational legacy, helping students understand the significance of his work.Grade 7 students performed a creative mime illustrating various mathematical symbols and operations.
The silent performance effectively communicated concepts and showcased students’ creativity and understanding. Students from Grades 6 to 8 presented an energetic and innovative dance performance based on different types of angles. The synchronization of movements with mathematical concepts made learning fun and visually engaging. Students from Grades 3 to 5 enthusiastically participated in the Math Relay Race. The activity successfully combined physical movement with mental calculation, fostering teamwork, speed, and accuracy.The National Mathematics Day celebration was a grand success. It provided students with a platform to explore Mathematics beyond textbooks through art, music, dance, classroom activities, and interactive games. The event reinforced the idea that Mathematics is not just about numbers but also about creativity, logic, and joy. The enthusiastic participation of students across all grades made the celebration memorable and meaningful.
